Hello everyone,

Today is Wednesday, January 25, 2017 and I am now 8 days post-op from my follicular unit extraction procedure.

At this point I am finished with my recovery and am now just waiting for the hair in the back and sides of my head to grow out to cover my scar.

Thank you for following my progress and check back next month on February 17 when I reach one month post-op.

All my best,
-Lance

Hello everyone,

Today is Tuesday, January 24, 2017 and I am now one week post-op from my follicular unit extraction procedure.

All of the crusts that were in my suture line are now gone and tonight was the last time I used the bacitracin on the extraction sites above and around my suture line. A lot of hairs that were placed in the suture line, left temporal peak, and frontal hairline have hung on after the crusts have fallen off, so it’ll be interesting to see if they continue to stay on over the next couple of weeks. Once the hair on the back and sides grows out and covers my scar, I’ll get a haircut to blend everything in.

I think tomorrow will be my last recovery update as I am now waiting for the numbness in parts of the back of my head to subside and I will return to my workout regimen next wee

Check back tomorrow when I reach 8 days post-op.

All my best,
-Lance

Hello everyone,

Today is Sunday, January 22, 2017 and I am now 5 days post-op from my follicular unit extraction procedure.

My scalp is continuing to heal well and today was the first day I put my head directly underneath the shower head. About half of the crusts in my suture line have fallen off and just about all of the crusts in my left temporal peak and frontal hairline are gone too.

The extraction sites have pretty much healed up by now and I think today will be the last day I use the bacitracin.

Check back tomorrow when I reach 6 days post-op.

All my best,
-Lance

Hello everyone,

Today is Saturday, January 21, 2017 and I am now 4 days post-op from my follicular unit extraction procedure.

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, the grafts are really starting to fly off my scalp and at this point I’m not sure if I will even do 10 days’ worth of updates because I doubt the grafts will stay on by then.

The grafts in my left temporal peak have all shed and the grafts in my frontal hairline are just about gone. Meanwhile the grafts in my suture line are still there but many of them are beginning to shed.

I am still washing my grafts with the pads of my fingers and rinsing them with a cup in the shower and the extraction sites have also healed extremely well with the bacitracin.

Check back tomorrow when I reach 5 days post-op.

All my best,
-Lance

Hello everyone,

Today is Friday, January 20, 2017 and I am now three days post-op from my follicular unit extraction procedure.

Compared with my previous FUT/strip surgeries, I’ve noticed the grafts from this FUE procedure are not nearly as large and I think a few of the grafts are beginning to shed, especially in my left temporal peak and left side of my frontal hairline. The grafts in my suture line are still hanging on and I am gently washing them with the pads of my fingers and still using a cup to rinse them in the shower.

The extraction areas in the back of my head are continuing to heal well via the bacitracin and the sites look much better now compared with the day of my surgery.

Check back tomorrow for my Day 4 update.

All my best,
-Lance

Hello everyone,

Today is Thursday, January 19, 2017 and I am now two days post-op from my FUE procedure to fill in my linear scar and touch up my frontal hairline.

The surgeon told me the grafts are healing really well and to continue my post-op regimen.

I am still using the saline spray a few times every hour on the grafts and am still shampooing my grafts with a cup and putting the biatracin on the extraction sites.

My head is still a bit numb especially in the  left-middle side where I had residual numbness from my second linear procedure.

Check back tomorrow for my Day 3 update.

All my best,
-Lance

Hello everyone,

Today is January 18, 2017 and I am now one day post-op from my follicular unit extraction procedure.

This procedure filled in my linear scar from my second FUT/strip procedure and also placed some one-hair grafts in my frontal hairline and left temporal peak.

I had my hair rinsed by the surgeon’s nurses earlier in the day and then had an evening bath where I rinsed my hair with a cup of warm water.

Once a day I will use bacitracin on the extraction sites and will spray my grafts 4 to 5 times an hour with saline solution.

It was also my first night after the surgery and although a bit uncomfortable, it wasn’t nearly as bad as my previous two strip procedures.

Check back tomorrow at two days post-op.

All my best,

Second Procedure: One Year Update and Final Result (366 Days Post-Op)

If you would like to learn more about my story and how a hair transplant procedure can regrow your hair, feel free to email me or contact my patient educator Steve Cook at 305.416.8418 as well at steve@mcgrathmedical.com.

Hello everyone,

Today is Friday, November 11, 2016 and I am now one year post-op from my second hair transplant procedure.

After two procedures and more than 12,000 total hairs, my follicular journey is complete. My hair is full, thick, and has the design and shape I feel I should’ve had all along.

Below are some pictures of me that compare the results from my first and second procedures, and it was worth it for me to do the second procedure.

My linear scar healed much better this time than last as I spent two months out of the gym and had to reset my programming. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I was sick a lot this year and haven’t really maxed out much so I was able to maintain my strength and muscle mass while my suture line continued to heal.

front-and-top

3%2f4-left-and-right

These pictures compare my results from my first procedure with Dr. Huebner back in 2014 to my second procedure in 2015. Although my hairline and temporal peaks have been built out, you can still see some thin areas that needed to be filled in. Compare them with the pictures from my second procedure, and you can tell how much thicker my temples are. You’ll also notice my left corner used to be more round and is now more square.

As I mentioned back in July when I celebrated my 30th birthday, whenever I look at pictures of myself prior to my two surgeries I honestly don’t recognize the man I see in those pictures and I’m glad that’s not me. The hair really does make a difference in my appearance.

Splitting hairs

Unfortunately my second scar has also stretched, although not as bad as my first one, so at some point this upcoming year I will have my linear scar filled in via FUE.

To all of my followers and anyone out there looking to embark on their own follicular journey, I hope I’ve provided the best possible map. It’s been a privilege to share this journey with you all and as always if you ever need to reach me, I’ll be here to help you embark on your own follicular journey wherever it may take you.

All my best,

-Lance

Second procedure: 9 Month Update (274 Days Post-Op)

If you would like to learn more about my story and how a hair transplant procedure can regrow your hair, feel free to email me or contact my patient educator Steve Cook at 305.416.8418 as well at steve@mcgrathmedical.com.

Hello everyone,

Today is Thursday, August 11, 2016 and I am now 9 months post-op from my second hair transplant procedure.

As the months continue to fly by, I am just so happy with how much more hair continues to grow in, justifying why I did the second procedure.

I had my most recent haircut on July 24 and decided to do a No.4 guard on the back and sides. I was very pleased that I didn’t have any sort of a crease line in the back of my head so I’ll continue cutting my hair that short from now on.

A year ago at this time after I celebrated the one year post-op mark from my first procedure, the scar on the right-middle side of the back of my head was a lot wider than the left side so whenever I got a haircut I couldn’t go shorter than a 5-guard without the crease line showing up.

In other news due to popular demand, I’ve done some hair styling videos solely for the YouTube channel so check them out when you get a chance!

Check back next month at the 10 month mark.

All my best,
-Lance

Second Procedure: 3 Month Update (93 Days Post-Op)

If you would like to learn more about my story and how a hair transplant procedure can regrow your hair, feel free to email me or contact my patient educator Steve Cook at 305.416.8418 as well at steve@mcgrathmedical.com.

Hello everyone,

Today is February 12, 2016 and I am now 3 months post-op from my second procedure.

At the three month mark, I’m still waiting for the new hairs to sprout up but have been getting a lot of ingrown hairs and pimples. This is a good sign as the newly transplanted hairs are starting to wake up and I can see a few more little spuds starting to poke their heads through.

When I was at the 3 month mark after my first procedure, I didn’t bother doing a video because there wasn’t a whole lot to talk about and in my opinion the three month mark is the most frustrating part of a hair transplant. You would think after 90 days there would be something to show for it but, alas, the hairs really don’t start growing until the 4-month mark.

I got a haircut the last week of January to clean up the back and sides of my head and my suture line has healed beautifully. I got a 4-guard and there was no crease line like how I had to be aware of after my first procedure. In fact, I think it healed so well that I could have probably done a 3.5- or even a 3-guard and you still wouldn’t see it.

Check back next month at 4 months post-op when the transplanted hairs finally begin to grow.

All my best,

-Lance
