Hello everyone,

Today is Sunday, August 27, 2017 and I am now 7 months and 10 days post-op from my  Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) scar revision procedure.

I am a bit behind on this month’s update because I was really sick last week. I also haven’t had a haircut since July 15 when a barber I’d never been to before went really short on the temporal peaks making them look a little pluggy.

Last month I had some trouble finding the single hair grafts that were placed in my left temporal peak and left side of my frontal hairline. But if you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know that the 7 month mark is one of my favorite parts of the hair transplant progress because that is usually when the transplanted hairs begin making a noticeable difference in your appearance.

The 50 single hair grafts on the left side of my frontal hairline are much more noticeable now and I can definitely feel the 315 grafts in my suture line. I will try to get another haircut closer to next month’s update and we’ll see

In other news, this month’s update is the last update I will be doing from this location as I am moving this weekend but am staying in DC. I first moved into this apartment two weeks before my first procedure in 2014 and it’s crazy to think about how much progress I’ve made since those first videos I made right after my first surgery to what I look like now.

Check back next month in September when I reach 8 months post-op.

All my best,
-Lance

Third Procedure: 6 Month Update (181 Days Post-Op)

Hello everyone,

Today is Monday, July 17, 2017 and I am now 6 months post-op from my Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) scar revision procedure.

I got a haircut on Saturday, July 15 and it honestly was not the best haircut I’ve had since I’ve been doing this blog. The barber cut the frontal bangs shorter than I would normally have them and both temporal peaks look a bit patchy but the back and sides look really good with little notice of a crease line with a No. 4 guard.

Going into this month, I had trouble finding the 50 single hair grafts that were placed in the front but I have just started to notice them as they were placed in and around the existing frontal hairline I had and are very weak. My patient educator Steve Cook told me that the grafts in the front are hard to find because I have had a lot of work done there and because there aren’t many and they’re just sprouting, they’re hard to see.

Meanwhile the grafts in the back that filled in my suture line are continuing to grow and I feel more stubs when I run my fingers along the scar.

At this point I have another six months to go and I am confident that I will be able to cut my hair shorter than a No.4 guard without seeing any discernible crease line.

As I mentioned last year at this time when I reached 8 months post-op from my second FUT/strip procedure, the month of July marks a lot of important events in my life.

Last week on July 11, I turned 31 years old and at this point I only continue to look and feel better than the previous year and last Friday, July 14, marked the three year anniversary of my first procedure. When I compare what I looked like at age 28 with such deep temporal recession with what I look like now at 31, my surgeries have taken years off of my appearance.

Check back next month in August when I reach one of my favorite parts of the hair transplant progress at 7 months post-op.

All my best,
-Lance

Second Procedure: 7 Month Update (213 Days Post-Op)

If you would like to learn more about my story and how a hair transplant procedure can regrow your hair, feel free to email me or contact my patient educator Steve Cook at 305.416.8418 as well at steve@mcgrathmedical.com.

Hello everyone,

Today is June 11, 2016 and I am now 7 months post-op from my second hair transplant procedure.

After the 4 month mark when you start seeing initial growth, the 7 month mark is another exciting time in the hair transplant process. Last time at 7 months I got my first haircut that blended the newly developing hairline with my natural hair and I couldn’t have been happier.

This time around I see a lot of new growth and density, especially in the weak areas of my temples. I haven’t had a haircut since April 30th so I’m a little cautious about how short I can get the back and sides done without a small crease line showing up. As I mentioned in last month’s update, my scar has stretched a little bit but that has more to do with my scalp’s flexibility and weight training habits than the surgeon’s work.

In other news, one of my followers Aaron had his first procedure a month ago on May 12 and has written his own hair transplant blog called Follow My Hair. If you get a chance, definitely check out his blog.

Check back next month in July at the 8 month mark.

All my best,
-Lance

7 Month Update (215 Days Post-Op)

If you would like to learn more about my story and how a hair transplant procedure can regrow your hair, feel free to email me or contact my patient educator Steve Cook at 305.416.8418 as well at steve@mcgrathmedical.com.

Hello everyone,

Today is February 14, 2015 and I am now 7 months or 215 days post-op from my surgery last July.

I got my hair cut right before this post and I am ecstatic with how things are coming in.

My temporal peaks have grown in very well and the restored hairline is long enough to style now and will continue to thicken up over the next few months.

To give you all a better idea of how much hair I have grown, compare today’s pictures with when I got my first haircut at 46 days post-op. Wow, what a difference!

Today is also Valentine’s Day and although it’s another commercialized holiday, the best relationship you can have is with yourself and it starts with taking care of yourself.

Since my procedure, my confidence has never been higher and I feel complete. I not only look much better than I did before my surgery but I also feel better than ever.

Check back next month for my 8 month update.

All my best,

-Lance

This is Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shaping Cream, the hair styling product I currently use. Prior to my surgery, I stopped using hair styling products because I was weary of how they would reveal how much of my forehead had receded.
